Kozhikode: Finally, a hacker from Kerala has put an end to the free run of online piracy website Tamilrockers.

Aravind Mangalassery of Kozhikode-based Console Techno Solutions has deactivated various websites of Tamilrockers -- www.tamilrockers.tv, www.tamilrockers.ax, www.tamilrockers.ro.

Talking to mathrubhumi.com, Aravind said the websites are unavailable since Saturday morning. However, a fake website under the name of Tamilrockers can be seen in search, he added.

Jayasurya-starrer Punyalan Private Limited was also there in the list of films with Tamilrockers. There was also a separate folder for Malayalam movies.

Earlier, actor Vishal along with other Tamil film industry members had tried to stop Tamilrockers, but it did not work out. The piracy group used to challenge the filmmakers by posting downloadable versions of the newest Tamil movies.

Though they succeeded in deactivating the Tamilrockers websites, films can be circulated through torrent. Since torrent websites make used of seeding technology, it is nearly impossible to block them.

Aravind said actor Jayasurya himself called him up and lauded his efforts. Aravind also warned that though the website is blocked, it is only temporary. They can come back. "If they do so, we will try to stop them again," he added.
